OK, the second version of the application has been posted to the iTunes AppStore and should be available once Apple have approved the upload. It will be found here once available - The old version 0.1.0 version will still appear until the new version is approved. The app is available for FREE (yes zilch) and will be forever. All future updates will be free no matter how small or big - even if I include some form of teleportation device or a cure for the common cold it will continue to be free.

So what is it? It is a UK numbering plan look-up application that enables the user to enter any UK PSTN telephone number and calculate the geographic location of the number - if indeed it is a geographically fixed number. If not, for non-geographic numbers, e.g. mobile services, freephone services, etc. the service type and communications provider will be displayed.

The application has embedded within it the very latest Ofcom (the UK communications regulator) numbering plan database, so has the complete range of numbers for the whole of the UK.

As this is the very first version it has a somewhat basic user interface and the database lookup is a little tardy at times but it should do what it is claimed to do. If you do spot any bugs or have suggestions for future improvements then let me know.

New features: Much better result match presentation, improved database access, finer granularity number database, and a new tabbed view.

Latest version = 2.1
